Outreach Ministries

GEPC wants to be a redeeming force locally, city-wide, and globally. We support a number of local ministries at various levels and support many missionaries around the world. Join us in serving where you may feel led!

Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House servants meet quarterly to prepare and serve a meal to families caring for their children.

Monthly Missions Collection

Each month Gashland has a ministry focus during which time you can bring small donations for the designated outreach.

City Union Mission

Since 1924, City Union Mission has provided warm beds, nutritious food, and a place for safety for thousands of poverty stricken and homeless men, women, and children. The Mission’s staff has been uncompromising in the commitment to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the hurting and the lost.

City Union Mission has full and part-time paid positions available on an ongoing basis. They also have needs of people to partner with them in Ministry in a variety of ways. These require a commitment of from just a few hours to a few days to support seasonal events. Contact Roy Stewart for details. 816-516-9248

Hillcrest Apartment Help

Gashland sponsors an apartment through Hillcrest Ministries for those trying to transition out of homelessness.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Tuesdays

Help prepare sandwiches from 9:30-10:30 for City Union Mission on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Broadway Ridge

Our mobile VBS program ministers to a nearby apartment complex on a weekly basis. Each Sunday there will be times of lesson, snack and craft. This is an incredible time to build relationships and share God’s love with our neighbors.

Yearly Outreach Ministry Events:

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Held during the Summer, this ministry event is a fun-filled week of worship, lessons, crafts, and fellowship open to all children wanting to attend within our community. It is a week long event that is held in the evenings and includes dinner for the children at the beginning of each night.

Trunk or Treat

This alternative to going door-to-door on Halloween takes place in the GEPC parking lot. Church members and neighbors set up their cars, decorate their trunks and children go trunk-to-trunk for candy. It is a wonderful evening event where your children can get a piece of candy and you can engage with a neighbor at the same time.

Easter Egg Hunt

Each Easter, Gashland hosts an Easter Egg hunt for our local community. It’s a fun way to spend the day with one another and to celebrate Easter with our community members.

We are always in need of volunteers for:

  • Ronald McDonald House:  Come minister to families a couple of hours (on designated Sundays) by fellowshipping and serving a meal.
  • Hillcrest Apartment:  Help stock the apartment, participate in the cleaning crew, and love on the family.
